Technical Guidance Of Management And Monitoring Of Airport Environment

Manado - In order to implement the Eco Airport at Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado, the management of PT. Angkasa Pura I Sam Ratulangi Airport in cooperation with the Directorate of Airport in Field of Environmental Management and Airport Area held an activity of “Technical Guidance of Management and Monitoring of Airport Environment” Wednesday (28/9).

The event is intended for work partners, business partners and airport community was opened by Sugito, acting as PTS (caretaker) General Manager of Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado. Besides Sugito, there were also Riyanto, Head of Operation Section of Airport Services (P2BU) Airport Authority Region VIII Manado. While as a speaker was Eka Novi Adriani, Chairman of the Environmental Impact Control Directorate of Airport the Ministry of Transportation and Indra Nasution, SMS & OSH Section Head of Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado.

“For support Eco Airport program at Sam Ratulangi is required cooperation of all related parties, not only the responsibility of PT. Angkasa Pura I as the manager of airports, but also all stakeholders existing at Sam Ratulangi Airport,” said Sugito. “We as management of PT. Angkasa Pura I Sam Ratulangi Airport Branch has applied and implemented the work programs regularly to realize the eco-friendly airports and we continue to contribute positively to the environment in accordance with one of the Company’s mission,” he added.

As one of the speakers, Indra Nasution explained that there are eight (8) aspects of environmental management at airports. “As an entity existing between environment and community, the aspects of air quality, water quality, noise, vibration, energy use, waste management, plants & animals and socio-economic-cultural-public health shall be a concern as an effort to preserve the environment,” he said.

From the results of management, monitoring and environmental testing as set forth in the reports of Environmental Management Plan (RKL) and Environmental Monitoring Plan (RPL) Semester 1 2016, the environmental conditions at Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado is in good condition according to existing regulation standards.

The same thing also delivered by Novi, “From our observations at Sam Ratulangi airport, for the environmental management has been running well. There are some suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of environmental management at this airport.” she said.
